Chatham Middle School is proud to announce that eighth graders Kamryn Hanson and Robert Bruso are the school’s nominees for the Siena College Student Courage Award, which honors students who actively promote the ideal of a just and inclusive society that values diversity and uniqueness.
Kamryn exhibits internal strength to cope with the ups and downs of middle school. She is involved National Junior Honor Society, orchestra and sports, and volunteers at the North Chatham Library and as a referee for community youth soccer.
Robert demonstrates responsible personal and social behavior. Through his respect for others, he brings together among different kinds of people and social groups, and creates settings for acceptance and cooperation.
Kamryn and Robert join other students from around the greater Capital Region in being nominated for this award. A committee of area leaders in social justice issues will review the nominations and select three recipients to be honored at the College’s 2020 Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King Lecture Series reception.
