First and fourth graders conducted some pumpkin investigations October 30. They measured the weight, height and circumference of their pumpkins, made predictions about if the pumpkins would sink or float, and also predicted how many seeds were inside. They then scooped out the insides and counted the seeds (for example, Mrs. Milano’s class pumpkin had 440 seeds!). After first graders voted on some designs to carve into their pumpkins, wile fourth graders held a pumpkin decorating contest.
