Emily Westover, daughter of Craig Westover and April Nelson, has been named Chatham High School’s Class of 2019 Salutatorian.
During her senior year Emily participated in the Capital Region BOCES New Visions Law and Government Program, a college level career exploration program. Through the program she was able to intern at the NYS Court of Claims and at the State Assembly for Assemblywoman Didi Barrett. Emily is Secretary of National Honors Society as well as a member of Tri-M Music Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society. Emily has been a member of many activities throughout high school including the Fall Festival of Shakespeare, Model Congress, Faxon School of Dance, the CHS Musical/Pit Orchestra, and Community Service Club. She has received numerous recognitions, such as Student of the Quarter, Certificates of Excellence, Highest Average, and the American Legion Chatham Post #42 History Prize. Emily will be attending Wellesley College in the fall to study Political Science and History.
