Chatham Middle School held it’s Arbor Day May 31, which included an academic awards ceremony, talent show, and games outside in the beautiful weather. Arbor Day at CMS also includes a tree planting ceremony in honor of retiring staff. The school’s sixth, seventh, and eighth grade key communicators joined principal Mike Burns and dean of students Mark Connelly behind the soccer field to symbolically plant a maple tree in honor of retiring teaching assistant Marie Baeckmann and sixth grade teacher Irmentrud Amos. The tree will be planted at Chatham’s Crellin Park.
