Sheriff Provides “Stop the Bleed” Kits to Chatham Schools

Special thanks to Columbia County Sheriff David Bartlett for providing Chatham Central School District with “Stop the Bleed” kits. The kits contain gloves, scissors, infused gauze, and tourniquets that can be used to help save lives. “Stop the Bleed” is a nationwide effort to provide bystanders with the tools and techniques necessary to address active bleeding emergencies in the moments before first responders arrive. CCSD will keep the kits handy in all three school buildings and our plan is to provide training in a three-phase approach, beginning with our administrative team, then staff, and eventually students where age appropriate.
