Classes Visit FDR Presidential Library and Museum

On April 16, the CHS Social Studies Department took students in the US History and Government classes down to Hyde Park, NY to visit the home of Franklin Delano Roosevelt along with the Presidential Library and Museum.

The students on the trip toured the amazing library museum looking for clues on some of FDR’s greatest accomplishments along with some of the major criticisms of FDR as commander and chief.

The US students also had the opportunity to work with primary source documents (photographs from the Dust Bowl) from the Presidential Library in small groups to gain an appreciation for this trying time in American history.

They ended the day with a wellness walk around the grounds where they saw the home of FDR along with his and Eleanor’s burial sites.
