Along with turkey, there was music, conversation, and holiday fun when our National Junior Honor Society hosted their annual Senior Luncheon, a popular and award-winning service program now in its twenty-fifth year at CMS. More than sixty area seniors visited the Middle School for the morning-long event, held this year on December 14. The event included a lively holiday concert performed by the Grade Seven & Eight Band, Grade Seven & Eight Chorus, and Sixth Grade Orchestra, and a turkey feast served up with some holiday fun by the NJHS students. Santa made a visit and there was bingo with prizes for the seniors to win.
Students in NJHS plan and carry out all aspects of the event, from designing the decorations, to raising funds to pay for the dinner and gifts, to making visits to area senior centers to personally invite their guests. The turkey dinner is prepared by our school’s Food Services staff.
