Board of Ed’s Faxon Honored as Person “Making a Difference”

The evening of September 27, Chatham Board of Education member Muriel Faxon (pictured left) was honored by the Zonta Club of Upper Hudson Valley as a recipient of their People Making a Difference Award. Along with her involvement with the Mac-Hadyn Theatre and being the former owner of the Faxon School of Dance and Chatham Bookstore, Muriel was honored for her commitment to local education. She served on the Chatham Board of Education for 15 years in the 1970s and ‘80s and rejoined the Board in 2013. She also serves on the board of the Giddings Foundation, which provides scholarships to local students.
