Art Field Trip to NYC

students take tour of Egypt section of Met

On April 20th, the Chatham High School art department took a day trip to New York City to visit the world-class Metropolitan Museum of Art. They had a guided tour of the Egyptian wing, where the students were able to see several artifacts that they had previously studied in Studio Art class. They also enjoyed free time to explore the rest of the museum, then walked over to the Met Breuer to see the special exhibits, including “Like Life: Sculpture, Color, and the Body (1300-now).” The charter bus that brought them to and from the City was funded by the Chatham Education Foundation of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation , through a grant that Fine Arts Booster Club member Teri Conte donated her time to write.
