Bean Problem Sprouts Young Engineers

The day before spring break, Mrs. Mulica and Mrs. Chiappinelli’s class took on a fun STEM project. The Challenge: equipment at the bean factory had malfunctioned and it was up to the students to sort things out! Their teachers gave each pair of students a bag of different sized beans. The students could not use their hands or mouths to sort the beans; instead, working with a partner, they had to figure out a simple machine that could sort the different sized beans for them, with no help from adults!
