Over several weeks during the winter, Chatham High School sophomores were hard at work in English class researching, writing, and advocating for change regarding human rights issues around the world. The assignment asked students to choose a human rights violation and a place where it is happening in the world. Topics students chose to address ranged from issues of police brutality in Brazil, to migrant rights in Calais, to child soldiers in Afghanistan. They invited the community to their Take Action Night, a showcase of their actions held in the CHS library, on March 21. Here are some photos from that evening.
