Gathering Honors Model Congress’ Success

To put a cherry on top of what was a banner year for our Model Congress Club, Principal John Thorsen coordinated a casual gathering for the members to savor their recent success together as a team. The Stewart’s Shop in Chatham donated ice cream and assorted toppings for the Make-Your-Own-Sundae Party, which the team enjoyed in the cafeteria during 9th period on February 12th.

In January, the team earned the Team Spirit Award, 1st Place Delegate Award, and 4th Place Delegate Award at the 78th Model Congress at American International College in Springfield, Ma, a competition Chatham competes in each year.

In a letter delivered to each team member inviting them to the celebration, Mr. Thorsen told the students, “You have taken our tradition of school spirt and excellence at the Model Congress Competition to a new level. We are proud of you for the hard work and effort you put forth, both individually and as a team.”
