Mrs. Mullica’s and Mrs. Chiappinelli’s class held a Writing Celebration on November 20th to honor their third grade authors’ incredible work writing personal narrative stories. This fall, third graders have been working on narrative writing and using punctuation like quotations and indentations. The students picked out their favorite writings to edit and refine for publication and to read at the celebration. “This project focuses on the craft of writing, rather than the mechanics of writing, and showcases creativity,” Mrs. Chiappinelli explained. MED’s second grade classes and school staff visited throughout the day to hear the third graders read their stories and enjoy juice and a light snack.
