Fall Festival of Shakespeare

Titania, queen of the fairies (Tyrene Campbell) fawns over Bottom (Julia Shanahan), whose head has been transformed into a donkey’s.

The victims of magical misdoings: Titania, queen of the fairies (Tyrene Campbell), only has eyes for Bottom (Julia Shanahan), whose head has been transformed into that of a donkey’s.

Misunderstandings, mischief, and magic became fantastically funny at Chatham High School during our students staging of A Midsummer Night’s Dream
. This beloved comedy by William Shakespeare hit the school stage November 10 & 11 before traveling to the Tina Packer Playhouse in Lenox, Massachusetts for a
final performance at Shakespeare & Company’s annual Fall Festival of Shakespeare on November 16.

Directed by Lori Evans and Sara Holt, Chatham High School’s staging of A Midsummer Night’s Dream was produced in partnership with the Fall Festival of Shakespeare sponsored by Shakespeare & Company. This nine-week residency program brought professional directors, actors, and stage technicians to our school to work with students in developing a 90-minute version of the play. Approximately 50 students were involved this year, from acting in the spotlight to working behind the scenes. Funding for this program is provided by the Chatham Central School District and a donation from Lael Locke.
