Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Mrs. Hogancamp’s and Mrs. Murray’s 5th grade classes read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone during September and October. It just so happened that they finished reading the book right before for Halloween. To celebrate, on October 30th and 31st they watched the movie and had a feast of Harry Potter-themed snacks. Students played a bingo-style game while watching the film by keeping a sharp eye out for certain character traits. When a character did a particular action, the student with that action on his or her card filled in their corresponding square. Line up five in a row and win! Creative class parents supplied tasty things like Dumbledore’s lemon candies, troll boogies, spiced pumpkin juice, snitches, Hedwig the Owl cupcakes, butterbeer soda, Dudley’s Snake cucumber bites, and more for the class to enjoy.
