Students enjoyed learning about diversity and being a friend with character education singer-songwriter Brian Chevalier, who visited MED on October 23. Mr. Chevalier and the students celebrated good character by singing songs together about respect, fairness, cooperation, teamwork, responsibility, caring, sharing, empathy, and more – songs that got our students and teachers engaged and having fun. Everyone even sang along using sign language!
“There are all kinds of things that make us special and unique. You want to think that about yourself, but you also want to think that about everybody else too,” he told the students as they sang together. “We all come together with our differences and that is what makes us a good team.”
Brian Chevalier led two assemblies in the MED gym – one for grades prek-2, and a second for grades 3-4. This character education assembly was part of Bully Prevention Month and was sponsored by the MED PTA.
