Global Foundries Grants $5,000 to CHS Robotics Team

The evening of October 12th, Chatham High School’s Robotics Team proudly accepted the award of a $5,000 grant from Global Foundries. Global Foundries and sponsors have teamed up to provide monetary support to new and continuing teams competing in the FIRST Robotics and Lego League programs. Additional sponsors to the grant include nfrastrucutre, AMD, National Grid, KLA Tencor, ASML, Edwards, Lam Research, Applied Materials, Pickett Family Foundation, Bechtel, Screen, Telus, and GE.

This is Chatham’s second year participating in FIRST Robotics and the first year our team has applied for the grant. The students extend their heartfelt thanks to Global Foundries and sponsors for their generosity and support of the team’s efforts.

As part of the FIRST Robotics program, our team will build a robot to compete in an arena-style competition against other teams from around our region and beyond. If you would like to learn more or would like to assist in any way, please contact team advisor Sandy Fischer at
