Chatham Welcomes New Superintendent

Dr. Sal DeAngeloThe Chatham Central School District is pleased to welcome Dr. Salvatore “Sal” DeAngelo as our new Superintendent of Schools. Dr. DeAngelo officially took the reins of our District on July 1st, 2017.

Dr. DeAngelo has over 30 years’ experience leading and coordinating public school district programs. He holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the Esteves School of Education at Sage Graduate School, and a master’s degree in Business Education from Norwich University.

Dr. DeAngelo comes to Chatham from the Bethlehem Central School District, where he worked as their Chief Technology and Information Officer. Prior to that, he served as Business Administrator for the Schenectady City School District. Earlier, he served as Schenectady CSD’s Technology Services Coordinator, Project Director and Coordinator of Technical Services for ProjectVIEW (a program focused on strengthening education through interactive technology), and Manager of Technical Services.

The Board of Education appointed Dr. DeAngelo to the position in January following an extensive search and interview process. He succeeds Dr. Cheryl Nuciforo as superintendent, who retired from the position on June 30th.
