Through this 4-week summer experience for students entering grade 6, 7 or 8 you will act as a forensic scientist analyzing a crime scene, conducting different forensic tests, working on newspapers, and simulating a trial with a jury.
Welcome to the 2017 Chatham Summer Academy! There has been a crime committed in Chatham and we need your help to find out who is guilty. Through this four-week experience, you will act as a forensic scientist analyzing a crime scene, conducting different forensic tests, working on newspapers and simulating a trial with a jury. While your friends are just hanging around, you can become a forensic scientist and see what is like to solve crimes and keep everyone safe! This summer you can work with your favorite Chatham teachers to:
- Learn how the police and other agencies solve crimes
- Create your own newspaper article
- Learn the skills of becoming a lawyer
- And of course to make new friends and have an awesome time!
Our short but exciting four-week period will be able to help you work on different skills including science, technology, critical thinking, public speaking, reading, and writing. Students will be immersed in different reading and writing activities, science experiments and a lot of different simulations for students to get the full experience of how to solve crimes and how to be a forensic scientist.
