6th Grade's Efforts Add Up During St. Jude's Math-A-Thon
Chatham’s sixth grade participated in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Math-A-Thon this January. The Math-A-Thon is a math-enrichment fundraiser with a real-world purpose; together, our sixth graders raised $4,182 to continue the fight against cancer and other life-threatening childhood diseases. The students set personal fundraising goals, solicited sponsors, and completed math problem booklets in class to raise money for life-saving research and medical care for critically ill children, which St. Jude provides at no cost to families. All that math really adds up at our middle school. Since 2001, Math-A-Thons at CMS have raised a total of $107,117 for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!
