I'm Grateful For...
Recently, CMS has focused on the positive character trait of being grateful. As part of their English Language Arts studies, sixth grade students were asked to write essays on what they were most grateful for. Impressed with the responses, interim principal Ms. Annemarie Barkman shared some of their essays with the entire student body during morning announcements.
Here are some excerpts from what the students wrote about being grateful:
I am grateful for my grandfather and father because they own our dairy farm. They are the ones putting food on the table. They also provide milk for the community. - Kaylin Meyer
I am grateful for my parents for putting a roof over my head and food on my plate and for just being there to support me in everything I do. I am also grateful for all my teachers that teach and educate me. - Oliver Allen
I am grateful for my parents, they put food on my plate, a roof to live under, clothes on my body and fun for everyone.
I am grateful for the NFL football’s Minnesota Vikings. Whenever they win I feel gratitude and I eat chicken wings with my family, it gets us together.
I am grateful for my brother Holden, always cheering me up when I’m having a bad day.
I am grateful for my cat because he’s soft and cuddly and he also cheers me up like my brother.
I am grateful to be alive. - Hayden Spock
One of the things that I am most grateful for is for our country and the people who fight for it. Lots of countries do not have what we have. Some people walk 5 miles to get a bucket of water, and that water isn’t even clean. Some people come home from school and don’t even get dinner. - Mackenzie Campbell
I am grateful for my friends. I am grateful for them because they are nice, funny, and super duper! We all share awesome memories together like Sam in the skirt, Eliza and the meces and many more. My friends are some of the best people in my life. That’s why I love my friends. - Charlotte Tucksmith
