2012 Science/Technology Fair

Chatham Middle School held its 17th annual Science/Technology Fair the evening of March 14th. Hundreds of onlookers packed the school gym to check out the student exhibits on public display. In all, the fair showcased ninety-five projects submitted by one-hundred-forty students. These budding scientists and engineers were on hand to explain their research and demonstrate their experiments to visitors.

Students spent weeks working alone or in pairs to develop their projects, which, when completed, had to provide either a solution to a technology problem or data supporting or rejecting a hypothesis.

During the school day on March 14th, students and their projects were judged by a panel of current and retired faculty members based on their use of the scientific method or demonstrated problem solving technique, creativity, knowledge of the subject, difficulty of the project, and quality of the presentation.

The 17th Annual CMS Science/Technology Fair award winners were announced as part of the public exhibition that evening.
