CMS Announces May Students of the Month
Chatham Middle School recognized Sophia Martino, Max Morrell, Kirt George, Emily Ooms and Sadye Law as its May Students of the Month. The recognition highlights the positive character traits that each of these students has demonstrated while attending classes at the Middle School.
CMS selects one Student of the Month from each grade and one from the school’s encore team. As part of their recognition, these five students enjoy a free pizza luncheon with interim principal Annemarie Barkman, and receive a certificate of recognition, a pin and a Chatham Panthers water bottle. Brian Kellog from Pizza Den in Chatham has generously supported these monthly recognitions by providing the school with pizzas for the luncheon.
Sophia Martino earned her spot as the fifth grade’s student of the month by showing more and more responsibility throughout the year. She worked very hard on her biography project and did a terrific job on stage. Her teachers are pleased to watch Sophia grow as a student.
Max Morrell made the sixth grade student of the month slot because he is a very responsible student who has done an excellent job on recent independent assignments. He is always punctual and prepared with all necessary materials. Max also displays many characteristics of a fine citizen, such as being honest, tolerant, caring, polite and respectful.
Kirt George is the seventh grade’s student of the month. Kirt is finishing the year on an extremely strong note. His teachers are impressed with his work ethic and contributions to class discussion. They are confident that Kirt will continue these efforts as he begins his 8th grade year in September.
Emily Ooms was chosen as the eighth grade student of the month because she is an outstanding student. She works hard for her grades and is reliable, responsible and mature. She is always quick to help a classmate with work and has been a great asset to this year’s eighth grade class.
Sadye Law was nominated for the encore Student of the Month. The fifth grader does all she can to meet class objectives consistently. She puts a lot of energy and enthusiasm into her classroom activities, regardless of who she is grouped with.
CMS would like to congratulate all of these students.
