PTSA Raises Funds to Support CMS Field Trips

The Chatham Middle School Parent Teacher Student Association donated over one-thousand dollars to CMS to support field trips at the school. PTSA president Karen Kellogg presented the funds to grade team leaders during the Middle School’s second quarter grade level academic awards ceremonies. Grades five, six, seven and eight each received $265.14 to help offset the total cost of their upcoming field trips.

team leaders“The PTSA is here to benefit all the kids at CMS, and we felt this would be the best way to do so.” said Kellogg.

Each grade at CMS takes a major field trip in the spring. The fifth grade will spend a week at a camp-style getaway known as Nature’s Classroom.  The sixth grade will visit the Bronx Zoo, and grades seven and eight will be headed to Boston.

The PTSA raised the money to support these trips through a number of its events, such as activity day, jeans day and school dances.
