Performing is the main function of musical ensembles like the CMS bands. Our concerts are where we display our work for the semester, and are a chance for students and teachers to take pride in their hard work and accomplishments. All of our performances are listed on the Chatham Central Schools District Calendar. Performances are not optional. Missing one will impact your grade and the group’s ability to play the music that we’ve practiced with you in rehearsal! In the spring of 2006, the Chatham Central Schools Music Department, in conjunction with District administration developed a policy on uniform concert dress. For Middle School band students the attire for all regular school concerts is:
Boys: Tucked in White shirt and tie, black pants, and black shoes. Girls: White blouse and black pants or black skirt (at least knee length) or black dress and black shoes. Students attending CMS Band performances without the proper uniform will not be allowed to perform. However, we do not want to exclude anyone from participating due to financial need. Anyone unable to obtain the proper concert dress should contact Mr. Christensen (392.1560 x2112) as soon as possible. Each matter will be handled individually and confidentially. |
