During music class we sometimes record our performances and listen to them afterwards. This allows the students to meet National Content Standard number 6 (listening to, analyzing, and describing music) and number 7(evaluating music and music performances). Here’s an example of a recent recording session:
“Siyahamba” South African Folksong Performed by 4th graders singing in Zulu, playing chordal harmony on boomwhackers, and playing a rhythmic ostinato on log drums. |
