GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT
Winston Hagborg
I completed my undergraduate degree at Rutgers College in New Brunswick, N.J. majoring in Psychology. After working for several years, I undertook graduate studies in Philadelphia, first at the University of Pennsylvania, for a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. I then went on to Temple University to complete my doctoral degree in School Psychology. After receiving my PhD, I went to work at a special school for emotionally disturbed children in Brooklyn for several years and then spent one year working in a Long Island public school. Then, my family and I relocated to this area and I began working in Chatham approximately 20 years ago. Along with my work within the schools, I have also been actively conducting research over the years, have published over two dozen professional journal articles, and presented a similar number of papers at professional conferences (e.g. The American Psychological Association). I have been married for over thirty years and have two children. While as a school psychologist most of my work is with children with special needs, my goal has always been to be apart of the entire school and be available to any teacher or parent with a concern about the educational or emotional needs of a child..
