Course Description

A 1/2-unit course presenting an overview of aerospace, land, and marine transportation systems. Class activities include rebuilding a small four stroke (lawnmower), small two stroke (weed eater) engines along with other projects involving many forms of transportation methods.

4 - Stroke Unit

In this unit students will learn the basics of a 4 - stroke engine. Material that will be covered are the 4 - stroke engine cycle, carburetion, ignition, and cooling. To reinforce these concepts students will disassemble, clean, and reassemble a small 4 - stroke engine.

2 - Stroke Unit

This unit will will cover the basics of a 2 - stroke engine. The difference between the 2 - stroke and 4 - stroke will be covered along with the positive and negatives of this design. The culmination of this unit will be the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of a small 2 - stroke engine.
