Introduction

My name is Shawn Caldwell and I teach Technology Education at Chatham High School. For those of you who don't know this is a small school located just southeast of Albany, New York. I am currently in my third year of teaching.

Teaching Life

The past two and half years we have made great strides in the technology department. Chatham has implemented the Project Lead the Way program (PLTW) which offers the students great opportunities to take pre-engineering classes. Courses in this area consist of Design & Drawing for Production, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, and Civil Engineering and Architecture. We also offer many foundation courses such Transportations, Residentail Structures, Production Systems, and Woodworking.

Coaching

Along with teaching I have had the opportunity of coaching football and basketball. I have coached the freshmen basketball team the past two years and I am the assistant junior varsity coach of the football team. We have had great success in both programs.

Life After School

I enjoy many activities outside of school. As you can see to the right during the winter months I go snowmobiling as much as possible. During the summer I keep myself busy with working on various construction projects. This is another line of work that I enjoy doing when I can. I also like watching and participating in athletic activities like football, basketball, and golf.
