Chatham Places Third at IMPACT

Two student teams and CHS math teacher Katharine Curtis attended the 12th annual Students IMPACT (Interested in Mathematics and Problem solving but unAware of Computer Talent) Program at Siena College on October 12. The IMPACT program connects high school juniors and seniors who have demonstrated academic talent (especially in mathematics), but who have not yet studied computer science, with the rapidly growing industry of computer information systems. Siena faculty taught the students mini lessons on various computer science topics and then the teams participated in a friendly competition that put what they learned to work. Chatham’s team of Thomas Van Tassel, Addie Potter, Maria Castellanos, and John Hoag placed 3rd overall out of 24 teams from around the Capital District!
