The MED Wellness Club is up and running, at full sprint! This new after school activity got started after a few students approached principal Kristen Reno with an interest in running. Together with assistant principal Richard Sutton and other faculty members, Mrs. Reno put together a program that involves not just running, but learning good exercise habits in general, as well as healthy eating and how both affect your body. More than 50 kids k-5 signed up! Right now, the club meets Tuesdays after school, but plans are in the works to meet one or two times a week during recess as well. One of the goals students will be working up to is completing a three-mile run. The program will culminate in a race-style event with medals and t-shirts for all participants.
