In anticipation of a capital improvement project for Chatham Central School District, the Board of Education toured the District’s five buildings – Chatham High School, Chatham Middle School, MED Elementary School, Bus Garage, and Chatham Public Library – on Saturday, January 6. The purpose of the tour and meeting that immediately followed was to allow all Board members to see the areas that the District’s Facilities Committee has identified as in need of replacement and provide feedback to the committee on what items are priorities. Joining the Board on the tour were Superintendent Sal DeAngelo, Business Administrator Mike Chudy, and Buildings & Grounds Supervisor Steve Nieto. The Facilities Committee will now review the feedback and make a recommendation to the Board on what the project should include. The Board plans to put a capital project proposal before voters this May.
