Student’s Winning Work Decorates Superintendent’s Office

On October 31st, CHS senior Madison Newton presented her painting Autumn Flight to Dr. DeAngleo, Chatham’s superintendent of schools, for display in his office. Dr. DeAngleo will be displaying different works of student art in his office throughout the school year.

Autumn Flight took first place in the judged student art show sponsored by the Fine Arts Booster Club at the Chatham Bookstore during this year’s OctoberFEAST. Madison is taking the Senior Fine Arts Workshop at CHS and her acrylic painting was part of a fall-based class project. It depicts a red-tailed hawk -one of her favorite birds and something that always makes her think of fall- flying through windblown leaves. Congratulations Madison!
